BVB trainer Edin Terzic reacted calmly to the recent speculation about captain Marco Reus.

“I think it’s completely legitimate that he’s concerned with his future. We would all do that in this situation,” said the Dortmund football coach.

In his estimation, the headlines about the alleged interest of Bundesliga competitor RB Leipzig in signing the national player, who was free in the summer, have no negative impact on Reus. “I don’t have the impression that it bothers him,” Terzic commented.

Both Reus, who was born in Dortmund, and defense chief Mats Hummels, the contract expires next summer. BVB has not yet reached an agreement with the two leading players on extending the partnership.

When asked about consistent media reports that Borussia was interested in an immediate commitment to Spanish talent Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid, Terzic did not want to respond specifically: “I have never commented on rumours.”

The 40-year-old coach also left open whether BVB is planning further winter acquisitions after the recent commitment of Julian Ryerson from Union Berlin and referred to the recovery of many previously absent professionals such as Sébastien Haller, Mahmoud Dahoud and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens: “I am I’m just happy that we have a lot of guys back. My job is to get the most out of the guys who are in the dressing room with us,” said Terzic.
