Bundesliga: Fit für Bayern: Leipzigs Werner zurück im Teamtraining
Soccer national player Timo Werner from RB Leipzig is fit again in time for the top Bundesliga game against Bayern Munich.
The striker took part in the team training of the DFB Cup winner for the first time since suffering a syndesmosis ligament rupture at the beginning of November. As the club announced, however, Werner has not yet completed the entire unit at the training camp in Abu Dhabi. Leipzig welcomes champions Bayern on January 20th to kick off the remainder of the Bundesliga season.
It is still unclear what level Werner can reach by then. On Tuesday, the 26-year-old trained individually with the ball. Pass exercises, sprints and jumps were part of the program. Now, step by step, the attacker is further integrated into the team training.
Leipzig has some worries in attack. In any case, top scorer Christopher Nkunku will not be available against Munich. The France international is suffering from a lateral knee ligament injury and is working on his return in Paris.
