Bundesliga: Nachfolger von Mintzlaff: Plenge neuer Leipzig-Präsident
After the departure of Oliver Mintzlaff, Bundesliga club RB Leipzig clarified further personnel formalities. Board member Johann Plenge succeeds the ex-athletes as club president.
This is reported by the RBLive portal after confirmation from the club. The 37-year-old Plenge is the highest-ranking official of the DFB Cup winners, both in Spielbertriebs-GmbH and in the club as a whole. Mintzlaff left the Bundesliga third in mid-November and switched to the management of the main sponsor in Austria.
Lawyer Plenge is responsible for the areas of corporate development and corporate management at the club. Born in North Germany, he has been advising RB since 2010, was responsible for human resources, law and strategy from 2013 to 2019 and returned in early 2022 after an interlude with the international football branch of the main sponsor. It is to be expected that Plenge will appear more in the media in the future. RB Leipzig currently has 20 voting members and around 900 supporting members.
