Bundesliga: Schalke-Coach Reis: “Es muss einfach der Knoten platzen”
Schalke coach Thomas Reis can again count on midfielder Dominick Drexler and defender Marcin Kaminski in the Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig. The two football professionals were still missing due to illness in the 0:3 defeat of the bottom of the table on Saturday at Eintracht Frankfurt.
He is happy that the squad is getting fuller again “and I can finally make decisions,” said Reis.
Schalke didn’t play badly in Frankfurt, created chances, but couldn’t eliminate their weaknesses in scoring. With only 13 goals, the Gelsenkirchen have scored the fewest goals of all first division teams.
“I told the team that I still lack the 100% gall to really want to score goals,” Reis said. “We can only say that we keep working on it,” added the 49-year-old. “It just has to burst the knot that you score a goal.” The gap between the promoted team and the relegation place is already six points ahead of the game on the 17th matchday tomorrow.
