FC Bayern München: Nagelsmann “zufrieden” mit Katar-Camp – “Torwart holen”
As always, Bayern spend the winter in Qatar. Coach Nagelsmann is optimistic, even if a goalkeeper is still missing.
Despite the unresolved goalkeeper search, Julian Nagelsmann drew a positive conclusion from FC Bayern’s training camp in Qatar. “I’m generally very satisfied,” said the coach of the record German soccer champions after the last training session in Doha and before the return flight to Munich.
Some players, such as national player Leon Goretzka, traveled home slightly injured after the heavy load. Defender Matthijs de Ligt has a swollen ankle. The Dutchman will therefore not be there on Friday (6 p.m.) in the friendly against Red Bull Salzburg on the Bayern campus, as Nagelsmann announced.
“It’s an important game. It’s about setting the course for the start of the Bundesliga,” said the Bayern coach. A week later, the leader has to play third-placed RB Leipzig. New signing Daley Blind will also be used for the first time against Salzburg.
The search for a goalkeeper replacement for Manuel Neuer (broken leg) continues to demand patience from Nagelsmann. “The market situation is complex. We’re trying to do something. We have a duty to get another goalkeeper, regardless of the number one,” said Nagelsmann. This is now the regular substitute goalkeeper Sven Ulreich (34).
